As a keen fell runner, I spend plenty of days out in the hills around the North of England. One of my favourite days last year, by far, was completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with these three legends from our Reach Higher alumni, Olivia Galloway, Will Challis and Tyler B.

For those not in the know, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a hike that takes on the three highest peaks in Yorkshire (Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) in one continuous push in under 12 hours. It’s roughly 24 miles (38.6 km) in distance with about 5,200ft (1585m) of total ascent. It’s certainly tough but very doable, which makes it a bucket list challenge for anyone with ties to our great county!

Spending nearly ten hours together on the hills of Yorkshire only further confirmed what I already knew; at Linacre, we support the most fantastic young people and it was a real pleasure to connect with them in an environment like this beyond the normal work of our charity.

What’s more, they raised nearly £1,500 for our Charity between them!!

Following the success of that event, we’re teaming up with Lupine Adventure again in 2026, and this time we want it to be bigger and better than before!

So, if you’re looking for something to get your teeth into this year, why not sign up for this iconic Yorkshire challenge and help raise some money for our charity along the way. There’s simply no better way to come together and share stories than a long day out in the Yorkshire hills!!

The day will be fully supported by qualified mountain leaders and a support vehicle with refreshments!

We just ask for a small contribution of £20 towards the cost when you officially sign up.
