Apply to be our new Executive Director
September 2020
Closing date: Thursday 8 October at 5pm
We’re looking to appoint a dynamic, driven leader as the new Executive Director of our ground-breaking social-mobility charity.
Reporting to the Trustees, this leadership position provides a real opportunity to drive and develop our 5-year strategy – and to change many lives for the better.
This is an exciting moment to lead the charity. Since 2014, we have pioneered an independently proven and very successful model of helping students in the ex-industrial North reach the world’s best universities. Our success rates match those of the UK’s leading schools, and many students have described Linacre as life-changing.
Now we want you to lead on growing the charity, to give that life-changing chance to many more young people.
You will shape this exciting growth of our core programme, and drive the fundraising to pay for it. You will get stuck in as well as stand back and see the bigger picture. You will shape a growing team, which includes former Linacre students.
In doing that you will make a lasting impression on a charity recognised as one the UK’s most promising drivers of social-mobility.
The Executive Director has four key accountabilities: for delivery of our mission and strategic objectives; for finance; for shaping a successful and happy team; and for the wellbeing and performance of the charity.
What we’re looking for
We‘re looking for a driven, highly capable candidate who can lead growth. You will have an eye for operational detail as well as the big picture, and an ability to form the strong partnerships that growth will depend on. You will produce creative ideas rooted in a sensitivity to the lives of young people in northern England, as well as to the operation of the universities they aspire to.
We are open to candidates with these skills from a range of fields.
The successful candidate will share a commitment to our values.
If this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you.
