September 2024 – New Programme Lead

We were really sad to wave goodbye to Lydia Jackson at our Stepping Stones residential in August this year. Lydia completed our Reach Higher Programme back in 2016, and then went on to work in various roles with the Charity, first as Schools and Programmes Co-ordinator, before taking on the Programme Lead role in 2023. She has been a fierce advocate and supporter of the Charity and our work throughout, and she will be greatly missed both students and colleagues alike. We wish her all the very best for her future career in teaching.

All is not lost though! We’re very pleased to welcome Dr Daniel Hughes to the Charity as our new Programme Lead. Before joining the Linacre Institute, Daniel worked in a variety of freelance and employed roles across the university sector. This has included time as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in the Department of English at the University of Texas at Austin, work as an academic skills adviser in the post-92 sector, four years as an English lecturer at Bangor University, and freelance work with organisations such as the Learned Society of Wales, King’s College London, and Swansea University. He gained his PhD in English Literature at Bangor University, and has particular research interests in modern Welsh literature in the English language.

Welcome Daniel!!!
