Sophie was part of our 2022 Reach Higher cohort. She won a place to study English Language and Literature at Oxford. She returned immediately as a class assistant to support our English teaching in 2023 and played a vital role as mentor at our 2024 Stepping Stones residential.

I was initially worried I would be underprepared for Oxford’s application process, however the Reach Higher Programme helped massively to bridge this gap. The opportunity to frequently discuss literature in a more academic way was really helpful and I am already seeing its influence in my A level work. I also feel the programme improved my confidence around my own ideas and developed my analytical skills in relation to new texts.”
